Hope Flies Mile Climb in Memory of Kirra
Hope Flies Mile Climb for Mito in Memory of Kirra is a family-friendly event supported by an energized community of volunteers, donors and friends honoring the mitochondrial and related disease community while raising awareness and funds for mitochondrial disease treatment and research on behalf of the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine, a non-profit based in Atlanta.
Hope Flies Mile Climb for Mito was created by Atlanta firefighter Kato Baythavong in memory of his daughter, Kirra, who passed away from Leigh’s Disease, a fatal form of mitochondrial disease. More than 100 firefighters dressed in full gear will lead the climb, along with their families, friends and supporters. When you join the Hope Flies Mile Climb for Mito community, whether it be as a walker, volunteer, donor, sponsor or cheerleader, you bring hope to those facing a rare or chronic illness. Thank you for helping Hope Fly!
